“The ocean, the Midnight Sun, the Northern Lights, and the rugged coastline of Norway inspire my work.”
-Helgi

Helgi Joensen was raised on the Faroe Islands and the western coast of Norway where he was exposed to the spectacular and ever changing seascapes of the North Atlantic which continue to be his greatest source of inspiration.

Educated in production engineering and management, Joensen had a successful career in industry prior to opening his own studio and gallery in Stavanger, Norway. He is self taught as an artist and, by developing an innovative technique, has redefined the use of pewter.

Well known for his sculptural vases that make impressive statements in their own right with or without floral decorations, Joensen’s unique and captivating work has gained him an international reputation. He has received major official and corporate commissions for reliefs, sculptures and architectural murals, and his ecclesiastical objects grace the interior of churches in Norway.
